Sunday 2nd March

90 minute Berrima Walking Tour

You will learn why Berrima was started, tales of the early settlers, inn keepers and convicts, and why it is the best preserved 1830s village in Australia. We will start and finish at the Surveyor General Inn,.  Limit 15 people.

Cost - $30 pp to be paid by February meeting in an envelope..

Those living in Northern Suburbs meet at Fraternity Club 8.30am for car pooling, Southern people Albion Park Railway Station 8.30am.  All meet up at “Surveyor General Inn”   10am to commence a guided walk

Tuesday Tunes at the Builders Club

Join us in the Basement at the Builders Club for this months Tuesday Tunes. This month we will be entetained by Natalie Carboni and John Elvis Collins.

Doors open at 11.ooam and the show commences at 11.30am.

Cost is $39 which includesa two course lunch. (Please put $40 in an envelope and I will give you $1 change.)

Collegians Lunch Specials

To day we will have lunch at the Collegions Club, 3a Charlotte Street Wollongong.

On Thursdays they have 12-hour Braised lamb shank served with creamy mash, garden peas & gravy. Club member price $9.90, non member $11.90. After we have finished our meal stop for a chat or have a card game of Bolivia while enjoying a glass of wine or coffee.

Meet at 1pm for 1.30pm start. Names by Sat 1 March. Pay for your meal when you order.

Friday 7th March

Let's Explore Johnston Street, Annandale

Join me to walk along historic Johnston Street, Annandale, named after Captain George Johnston of the First Fleet.  

View the Witches Houses, Annandale Gate House, Horse Trough and other 19th century heritage treasures, and The Tram shed.  

Bring lunch or buy along the way.  Lunch in the Bi-Centennial Park with views of Sydney Harbour and Anzac Bridge.   This walk is 2kms, but can be extended to 4km with a further optional walk to the Fish Markets.  Return to Central by Lightrail. 

Trains:-Junction Shellharbour 8.09am, Wollongong 8,36am, Thirroul 8.48am.  Bus along Parramatta Road to Annandale.  Return train  2.20pm or 3.20pm.

Meet at Corrimal RSL for lunch at 11.45am or in the theatre foyer at 1.15pm.

Restaurant Night at The Little Thai at Port

This month we will go to a new restaurant (for our club) the Little Thai at Port, 6/96-106 Wentworth Street, Port Kembla. It is located in the Kembla Court at the rear of garden area and art gallery shops.

I have booked tables under cover outside of the restaurant overlooking the gardens,  so we do not have to worry about the weather.

Meet at 6pm for 6.30pm start. Cash only please.

Nathan Foley at the Illawarra Yacht Club

Nathan Foley who used to be with Hi 5 and his 6 piece band give us the Aussie music we grew up with, that brings us so much joy, and opens the flood gates for happy memories.

Music from John Farnham, Cold Chisel, Little River Band, Dragon, 1927, INXS, AC DC and the funky Daddy Cool.

I have got 20 tickets and the cost is just to purchase your dinner. The show is free!!!

Dinner is booked at 5.30pm  but arrive at 5.15pm and the show starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 10pm.

Janis and I saw him just recently and his show was brilliant.

Tuesday 18th March

IOC Meeting Night

All Welcome!

The meeting commences at 7.30pm downstairs in the Sunken Lobby at the Fraternity Club, Fairy Meadow.

Members, guests, and visitors are welcome to join us for the meeting or come early and join us for dinner from 6.00pm in the Fraternity Bistro.

Don't forget to wear your IOC name badge to win a prize and help us to get to know each other.

Thursday 20th March

Dinner at the Sporties - Warilla

Join Bruce and Gina for the T/Bone steak meal or your choice from the menu. The T/Bone meal is only $20 which includes a glass of wine or a schooner of beer which make this a great deal.

Meet at 12.00 noon at the Open Hearth Hotel in Warawong for lunch. Then select a movie to see at the Gala or Hoyts.

Sunday 23rd March

Indoor Bowls at Warilla

Come and join us for a fun 2 hours of bowls with no sun, wind or rain or bumps in the grass.

Meet in the foyer at at 12.00 noon for lunch and at 1.30pm play bpwls.

Cost is $8 for bowls and green hire.

Socks, bare feet or bowling shoes must be worn on thr green. After the game enjoy a coffee or cool drink and a chat.

Join us for a fun night of cards and games at the Bridge Club Hall in Figtree.

Cost is $5.00 per person.

Please bring a small plate of nibbles to share for supper. No hot food as there are no heating facilities.

Approach can be from either north or south. Turn into the park on the north side of Figtree shopping centre car park.
